ENC1101

English Composition I (ENC1101) Blended

Faculty Introduction:

Greetings! I'm Professor David Hennessy. I've taught English at BC since 2001. Before that, I taught at the University of Miami, St. Brendan High School, and Edison Sr. High School. My approach to writing encourages all the steps in the writing process, so you should expect to complete outlines,  and other preliminary steps while writing a paper. I will teach you how to complete all of these steps. You will also find that I engage in a lot of one-on-one discussions with students to give feedback on these steps, so by the time you sit down to write the final draft of a paper, you should hopefully be on the right track.

Course Description:

This course focuses on teaching quality writing skills. The point of this course is to help you improve your ability to write quality, intelligent, sophisticated college-level essays. Within this course, you’ll apply what you’ve learned from our textbook readings, the lessons, and our class discussions to write 3 papers (between two and five pages in length for each).

This course is offered as a BLENDED course in which learning takes place online and once a week in our on-campus meetings.
